PALMA 17: The Coffins of the Priests of Amun

Egyptian coffins from the 21st Dynasty in the collection of the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden

The Egyptian collection of the National Museum of Antiquities comprises several beautifully decorated coffins of the priests of Amun. The international Vatican Coffin Project focuses on the entire use-life of ancient Egyptian coffins, from their production in ancient times until the use of them in museums in modern times. In light of this project this volume of PALMA presents the first results of the research done on the coffins of the Amun priests in Leiden.
