Rare Merovingian glass

There are very few known examples of early medieval glass in the Netherlands. The exhibition Golden Middle Ages includes rare and beautiful Merovingian glass in a separate gallery on the second floor. There you can find dishes, cups, beakers, and drinking horns, in fifty shades of green. Their wondrous forms, such as the claw beaker and the bell beaker, are unique to the Merovingian period.
