Three departments
The Dutch National Museum of Antiquities has been an independent institution since 1995. Its mandate is to manage the archaeological portion of the national collection and to make it widely accessible to the general public. The museum has about eigthty permanent or temporary employees.
The museum’s internal organisational structure is divided into management and three departments:
- Internal and Public Affairs Department
- Collections and Research Department
- Finance and Business Administration Department
The management team consists of Wim Weijland (director and head of the Internal and Public Affairs department), Lucas Petit (head of the Collections and Research department) and Guus Waals (head of the Finance, Operations and Public Service department).
