Every donation, whether it is large or small, one-off or structural, contributes to the activities, growth and quality of the National Museum of Antiquities (Rijksmuseum van Oudheden). We therefore are grateful for every donation made. 

With your support, we can conduct further research, improve public access to antique collections and increase our understanding of ancient civilizations. 

Why becoming donor or sponsor?

If you want to contribute to a museum of worldwide significance, if you believe that archaeology and antiquities matter and if you seek an opportunity to increase your visibility in the Netherlands, then becoming a donor of the National Museum of Antiquities is the perfect choice! Donate and bequest

Donations and bequests are used to enhance and preserve the collection and to fund awareness-raising activities, new research and educational programs. 

Support an exhibition or event

You may also wish to link your name to a particular product, project or event, for example: the 200th anniversary of the museum, an upcoming exhibition, publication or conference. The museum functions as an outstanding and attractive platform to show your social commitment and to promote your brand among a wide Dutch audience. We gladly discuss the exclusive benefits of a partnership.

Bank transfer

Donations can be transferred to: account number NL84 RABO 0177 087 854 in the name of Stichting Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, with the reference 'schenking'. Donations are kept in a dedicated fund. 

Fiscal benefits

The National Museum of Antiquities (registered as Stichting Rijksmuseum van Oudheden) has an official ANBI status (Institution Aimed at the Common Good). This registration at the Tax Service provides fiscal benefits to sponsors and contributors in the Netherlands, and in some cases also outside. Your donation will be fully used for the good of the museum. 

Tax benefits may apply for American donors. We have an agreement with the Netherland-America Foundation (NAF, which is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Named Endowment Fund

We also offer individuals the option of setting up a Named Endowment Fund. The donor can specify the purpose of the fund, which is managed by the National Museum of Antiquities. For more information, please contact the Director, Wim Weijland (stuur een e-mail).

Donate an object

Becoming a corporate sponsor

The National Museum of Antiquities offers businesses various possibilities for donations and sponsorships, by: 

  • becoming a business friend through the friends association Stichting Zakenvrienden van het Rijksmuseum van Oudheden 
  • becoming a main sponsor through a tailor-made partnership with benefits that meet your business objectives and to make sure we deliver a valuable return on your investment.
