Pieter ter Keurs and Charlotte Huygens new members of Management Team
With the appointment of Dr Pieter ter Keurs as head of Collections and Charlotte Huygens as head of Presentations and Education, the four-person Management Team of the National Museum of Antiquities has two new faces, effective 1 March 2009.
Pieter ter Keurs
Pieter ter Keurs (1956) studied cultural anthropology at the University of Leiden. In 1987, he started working at Museum Volkenkunde, where he developed and distinguished himself in many areas. From 1989, he was the curator for insular South East Asia and created exhibitions such as ‘Indonesia: discovery of the past' (Nieuwe Kerk 2005). Ter Keurs also worked as coordinator of international collaborative projects and he was a researcher and guest lecturer at the University of Leiden.
Charlotte Huygens (1964) studied Arabic Language and Letters at the University of Leiden. She comes from the Rotterdam World Museum, where she was responsible as part of management for artistic and content-related policy. In the past two years, she has been working already at the National Museum of Antiquities as a project leader for exhibitions and later as the ad interim head of Presentations.
